Typically an RCFL has one director, an assistant director, and anywhere from 10-12 computer forensic examiners, some of whom may be trainees. The RCFL may also have technical and administrative detailers on staff.

Even though the RCFL staff remain as employees of their home agencies, they are expected to comply with the standard operating and quality assurance procedures/protocols of the RCFL in which they serve.

Serving as NJRCFL's Director is Ronald Menold, FBI. The Deputy Director is Lieutenant Scott Johnson from the New Jersey State Police (NJSP). Our Chief Forensic Examiner is Ben Demonte, FBI. There are 21 full time forensic examiners and 3 part time examiners from the FBI, NJSP, NJ Division of Criminal Justice, The New Jersey Attorney General's Office, Essex County Prosecutor's Office, Monmouth County Prosecutor's Office, Somerset County Prosecutor's Office, and Jersey City Police Department. The forensic examiner staff is supported by federal and state personnel who provide administrative support and evidence management.
